The Safeguarding of adults with care and support needs is everybody’s business across our city and the site is for the use of everyone, members of the public, volunteers, community groups or professionals.

The information and guidance is simple and the site easy to use to find out how to report abuse or neglect of a person in need of care and support.

The definition of adults which the Board seeks to protect is from the Care Act 2014 which became law on the 1st April 2015.

Any person aged 18 years or over who:

  • has needs for care and support (whether or not the local authority is meeting any of those needs) and;
  • is experiencing, or at risk of, abuse or neglect; and
  • as a result of those care and support needs is unable to protect themselves from either the risk of, or the experience of abuse or neglect.

To report abuse or discuss a concern call:

01482 616092
and speak to the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub or call
01482 300304 after 5:00pm and at weekends or: download the adult at risk concern form.
